WSS Story
Hi, I’m Josie! I’m a mama, marketer, and the heart behind Wild Sage Socials. I find joy in the little things: working at my favorite local coffee shop, a quiet run along the lake, summertime paddle boarding, having my family over for a BBQ, and connecting with like-hearted people who value intention and genuineness. As a mom, these small but meaningful moments help ground me. They remind me to lead with authenticity, to build a life and business that aligns with my values, and to show my child that doing what you love and doing it with heart really matters.
I was raised in Tuolumne County, and so were five generations before me. This place is more than just home; it’s part of who I am. I grew up surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and the strength of this community, and that deep connection shows up in everything I do. Wild Sage Socials is a reflection of that, a way for me to support the people, businesses, and stories that make this place so special.
I graduated from California State University, Chico in December of 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus in Marketing, a field I’ve been drawn to from a young age. Early in my career, I worked in marketing at Black Oak Casino Resort but eventually found myself in the accounting world, a path that quickly made me realize how much I missed creativity, storytelling, and connection. That realization led me back into marketing and into a role at Visit Tuolumne County, where I was involved in a range of marketing efforts, including contributing to their social media presence and connecting with the community in meaningful ways.
The idea for Wild Sage Socials came to me in the most unexpected way. One afternoon, I messaged Pence Farm Sourdough on Instagram to ask if they had pizza dough, but I didn’t receive a response. So, I stopped by in person and mentioned it to Jim, the owner, who told me he managed their social media himself but didn’t have time to keep up with it throughout the day. I grabbed my dough and headed back to work, but as I walked, something clicked. I thought What if I offer to do it for them? I have the skills – why not? By my next break, I walked back over and asked. Soon after, I started managing their social media, watched their engagement grow and realized how much I loved helping a small local business thrive. That’s when the idea really took root and Wild Sage Socials was born.
Wild Sage Socials was founded on a simple belief: that local businesses and non-profits deserve to tell their stories in a way that’s real and intentional. For me, it’s never been about chasing followers or viral trends, it’s about helping brands show up in ways that feel true to who they are and meaningful to the people they serve. By focusing on authenticity and thoughtful storytelling, I strive to help my clients stand out in a crowded digital world.
